Investing in Those Who Serve Our Community

Amarillo Community Village is deeply committed to caring for those who spend their lives caring for others—our local nonprofit professionals. Day after day, these leaders and staff walk alongside children, families, and individuals in some of the most difficult and emotionally demanding seasons of life, often at the cost of their own well-being.

Burnout in the nonprofit sector is real and growing, which is why we create intentional Self-Care Gatherings designed to restore, encourage, and support the mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual health of those who are constantly pouring out.

Through activities like pickleball, bowling, outdoor outings, painting sessions, and leadership lunches, these gatherings provide much-needed space for rest, connection, and professional growth. Your donation allows us to continue offering these Self-Care Gatherings at no cost to nonprofit professionals and covers wellness activities, mental health and leadership speakers, team-building experiences, and encouragement materials.

When nonprofit professionals are healthy and supported, their organizations and the people they serve are stronger. Your support helps ensure these dedicated individuals are valued not just for what they do, but for who they are.

Your impact can start now.

Nonprofit professional testimonies of self care events

  • It was fun bowling and taking time to relax from my "busy" schedule. I also got to meet a couple of new friends and socialize and laugh a bit (about who was the worst bowler). I would have not taken a break like this on my own.

  • I absolutely love the self care days that ACV organizes. We often don't realize how much we really take on in our jobs until we find ourselves mentally exhausted. It's important to take time to just relax for a bit, focus on our self, listen to a word from God and have fun with our coworkers. I really hope ACV can continue doing this. I feel it makes a huge positive difference in my life, and it motivates me to do even better in my job.

  • Going to these meetings has helped me by meeting others who are passionate about what we do and together we give each other inspiration, to continue helping to change people's lives. I also like the benefits of the massages, prayer, food, information, and fellowship we share and get to unwind with other people that give us strength, hope, and inspiration to keep doing what we see is needed.
